Now I've Really Seen Everything
In my over a decade of exercising and competing in races, I have seen a lot of crazy thing, but my spinning class last night ranks right up there with them. One of the ladies in the class was knitting. Yes, I said knitting. I guess you're still getting some of the workout in with the leg movements, and it was an endurance ride, but still. I'm afraid I'm turning into a workout snob, but I really don't think it was appropriate. Am I wrong?

I don't know...sometimes I *wish* I could be multitasking for my long rides. I mean, could I maybe swing doing my taxes and my foundation ride together this friday??
Sigh.
Of course the answer is no if I want to get either done right. I guess she was planning on dropping some stitches *and* some fitness!
If I can take photos on a bike ride, she can knit during her spinning workout. Leave the poor lady alone!
Now excuse me while I go for a swim and clip my toenails (at the same time).
s'like that dude with the cellphone with me in the pool. What the hell.
People are so dumb.
Although I know I shouldn't let things like that bother me, and that I should be paying attention to my own workout and only my workout, that would have pissed me off. Yesterday a girl was walking around the indoor track yammering on her cell phone and I got irrationally irritated.
Those people annoy me. They cannot really be giving either 100%... just chose one thing and focus.
I used to see this girl walking at the park all the time. She would be walking, wearing head phones and reading a book. How?
I like things like that because they give people something to write about. I don't think she could be doing her best riding or knitting, but hey, whatever floats your boat, I guess. If I were the instructor I might be a little offended.
The talking on a cell phone at the track, though, that I would find rude.
The bad part was that I wasn't even on the track with her. I was down on the floor below lifting weights. Just seeing her doing it, I couldn't hear her, made me nutso!
I can't say I've ever seen or heard of anything like that before! Although I suppose I could see it happening?
Now, if someone were to pass me on the bike at a race while knitting... that'd be a whole 'nother story.
how in the world? i would love to see a pic of that one... wonder what the instructor thought...
Maybe she way knitting arm warmers for some early spring riding!
